Field Closures - June 4

Coaches and Parents of Major Peewee and Major Rookie divisions: Due to the weather, the City of Kitchener had closed their baseball diamonds. Closure of diamonds normally covers the entire day. Use of any closed diamonds would result in the loss of our permits, immediately ending our season and void an insurance claim for an injury sustained while playing a closed diamond. As soon as this information was available we notified the Convenors and Coaches and cancelled our umpires. The cancelations by the City were then lifted on a number of diamonds. Our Convenors moved quickly to notify teams scheduled for today. On behalf of KMBA, WMBA and KWHL, we offer our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are at the mercy of the weather and trying our best to successfully complete the mid-season tournament for your divisions. The KMBA and WMBA are meeting on Monday to discuss how to schedule regular season games missed by all divisions. Please keep in mind that this requires the availability of diamonds and umpires.
